Surviving are daughters, Elaine Burke, St. Peter's; Veronica (Gary) Teed, Claire (Pat) Lovett, both of Halifax; Louise (Norman) LeBlanc, Maxine (David) Fraser, both of St. Peter's; sister, Germaine (Simon) Carter, River Bourgeois; brothers, Charlie Digout, River Bourgeois; Vincent (Marie) Digout, Fred (Norma) Digout, Marshall (Eileen) Digout, all of Brantford, Ont; George (Sharon) Digout, Stan (Marge) Digout, both of River Bourgeois; grandchildren, Claudine Burke, Lisette (Kenzie) MacDonald, Cory (Tracy) Teed, Stephanie Morrison, Alicia Lovett, Derek (Johnann) LeBlanc, Vanessa, Adrian, Ainsley, Joella, Katrina and Erica Fraser; great-grandchildren, Cameron and Christian MacDonald, Jenna Teed, Grace Morrison, Josée and Jeanne LeBlanc; numerous nieces and nephews. Two sisters, Mrs. Placide Mombourquette, L'Ardoise; Mrs. D Sampson, GrandLake Road; two brothers, William Digou, State Island N.Y., Jack Digou,South Bar. The late Mrs Quinn resided in South Bar for many years and enjoyed theesteem and respect of countless friends, neighbors and acquaintances whowill keenly regret her passing. The funeral will be held on Saturday morning from her late residence at8:30. Mass of Requiem at St Alphonsus Church at nine o'clock. Burial inSt Alphonsus cemetery. The Post Record - Sydney, NS, Tuesday, January 27, 1948 Funeral services were held Saturday morning for D.S Quinn from his lateresidence at South Bar and from St. Alphonsus Church. Requiem Mass was celebrated by Rev. Francis Morley who also officiated atthe graveside in the parish cemetery. The services were largely attended and the many floral offerings andcards of sympathy testified to the esteem in which the deceased was held. Pallbearers were Ray Martell, John MacCabe, Jerry Duffney, BernieRatchford, Billy Quinn and Don Quinn. The above has some typo errors that have been verified and are correctedas follows. This is the obit of Mary Elizabeth (Digou) Quinn and not ofDaniel Surdick Quinn as the second input would lead you to believe. Thespelling of John McCabe's name is an obvious typo as is the name of DanQuinn vice Don. This information has been verified by Mary Florence(Quinn) McCabe. The other issue to be resolved is if she died on 21 Janor 22 Jan 1948. If you follow the dates above, it would indicate 21 Janwhereas family say it was 22 Jan. on 23 January 1948.2
